We are so excited to welcome new members to the LAUNCH board of directors. These individuals have stepped up to help our organization; our staff members and our program participants to make LAUNCH a better organization that helps the children and adults in our community with learning and developmental challenges.
Let’s meet these special people:
Justin Tierney is a LAUNCH board member with a little over a year of service to the agency. Justin works for BHG Financial as a Manager of Talent Acquisition. Prior to serving on the board of LAUNCH, Justin spearheaded a volunteer project and donation from BHG to LAUNCH. Justin says “I got involved with LAUNCH because I believe in the mission to create an opportunity for all to learn and make an impact. I am a firm believer that people are interested in the opportunity to learn and grow to be put in opportunities to feel accomplished, whether that is learning and gaining knowledge or working for a company to make an difference. LAUNCH provides opportunities to those who need a little bit more guidance and support and offers the assistance with helping them grow as individuals and members of the community. ” Justin serves on the Fund Development and Golf Committees as well as the Executive Director Search Committee.
Laura Foster joined the LAUNCH Board of Directors in January 2024. As a Special Education teacher in the West Genesee School District as well as the Syracuse City School District, Laura brings a perspective to the board that adds to the mission of LAUNCH. She has worked in Special Education her entire career and is also a Field Supervisor for preservice teachers attending Syracuse University. Laura joined the LAUNCH Board of Directors because she believes in the LAUNCH values and the impact they make in the community. Laura serves on the Fund Development Committee.
Maeve Lanning Stockman is a Procurement Manager for National Grid and also the President of the LAUNCH Board of Directors. Maeve chairs the Executive Director search committee and also serves on the Governance and Recruitment Committee as well as the Executive Committee. Maeve has been a board member for four years and came to LAUNCH with previous board experience but didn’t know anything about services for people with disabilities. She wanted to continue to invest in her community and she sure has done that in a big way! Maeve states “I’m so grateful to the board, staff, and our clients for everything I have learned about the agency and the community we serve. It’s been so rewarding and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow with the agency! After joining the LAUNCH board, I quickly realized how much more LAUNCH does to support people with learning and behavioral differences. The range of programming and resources for our clients is amazing: from social supports to community connections to educational advocacy!”
