Jordan came to LAUNCH’s employment programs and worked to update her resume, researched and applied to jobs of interest to her and prepared for interviews. Jordan struggled to attend her job development meetings consistently, but with prompting and a change in employment consultant, Jordan began to take an active role in her journey to employment. In September of 2022 she was interviewed and hired at Wegmans in the bakery department. This was a perfect job match for Jordan as she loves cooking and baking.
With consistent job coaching, Jordan was able to maintain her job and learn the skills necessary to not only work on packaging in the bakery department, but to spend some time in create a cake working on decorating the cakes. Jordan had some struggles along the way in her journey, but with a strong partnership with her job coach as well as her bakery team, Jordan has made steady progress.
Jordan has faced some challenges at work including some changes at Wegmans and with job coaches, however, the team has pulled together to ensure Jordan’s success. Jordan has recently advocated for herself to her management team and has taken on an additional day at work each week and will be beginning to work again in create a cake after some time away. We are so proud of Jordan, her drive to improve on the job and her motivation to show Wegmans that she truly loves her job and wants to do well.
